It's time to receive
In the Book of Genesis (12:1-3), God tells Abraham, the patriarch of the people of Israel: "I will make you into a great nation and bless you... and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you." This is one of the central verses in the idea that the Jewish people were chosen not for privileges, but for a spiritual mission: to be a light to the nations and a channel of blessing to the world. In Jewish theology, being the "chosen people" does not mean superiority, but a responsibility: to fulfill the commandments and to be an example of spiritual, ethical, and just living. The people of Israel and the Jews have been important for their spiritual, ethical, cultural, and intellectual influence. The idea that they "bless all humanity" comes from their biblical role as a channel of divine teachings and their real impact on universal history and thought.
